Just a few reminders about tomorrow’s parade:
Report time is 11 AM at GS Middle School – NOT the HS! There is no transportation provided to or from the parade. Students need to be dropped off at the MS at 11 AM and get picked up at City Hall right after the parade is over.
Students were sent home with their uniforms on Thursday. If they forgot to bring it home, the HS band room will be open at 10:30 on Saturday. Students do not need their uniform hats — instrumentalists MUST bring a Santa hat to wear instead. Band front students decided on their uniforms a couple of weeks ago and all students will all be wearing the same thing. Check with the instructors if you have a question.
Students who play large instruments will need to come to the HS at 10:30 to load the truck. It will leave promptly at 10:40, so if you are not on time you will need to transport the instrument to the MS. Some students took their large instruments home on Thursday.
The HS band room will be open following the parade for students to take instruments back. The truck will be loaded at the end of the parade route and will need to be unloaded immediately following the parade. The school will be open until around 3 PM.
We will be at the very end of the parade, leading on Santa. This means that we will not be done with our performance until around 1:30-2 PM. Students can be picked up from the Lighting Gallery/Dollar General parking lot right after the parade, or they can walk to the place they will be picked up. Note that beginning at 10:30, Main Street will be blocked off from Euclid to Clopper, and Maple/Park/Grant will also be blocked off around the MS.
Mrs. West will send a text message to all parents enrolled with Remind101 when the band steps off at the MS. From that point, it will be approximately 15 minutes until the end of the parade. If you would like to enroll for free/secure text alerts, send “@gshsm” to (484) 577-8229. The notification will also be tweeted at that time (@gsbands).
Band students must return their uniforms and equipment either after the parade or on Tuesday after school.
This parade marks the end of a spectacular fall marching band season. We are all so proud of our students!
